An extremely rare xeric-mesoxeric species in our flora.
Mentioned from many localities in the XIXth century, seemingly it
was mistaken for Seseli osseum. The last mentioning was the
locality of Dumbrava Rosie, Neamt county but nobody really knows
where this species can be found there. In 2005, dr. Sramko Gabor
from the University of Debrecen, Hungary, discovered this unique
locality at Lazarea, Harghita county.
Lazarea, Harghita county, above the steep artificial cliffs which
stands over Lazarea castle and over the northern tip of the village.
The locality is heavily grazed and degraded through ruderalization
though the population of this species is doing very well. This is
indicative that the species is resistant to overgrazing and
ruderalization and thus its rarity in our flora is explained by
other factors - maybe the competition of the closely related species
like Seseli osseum,.12th of August 2010.
